Dr. Chad W. Parkes is an orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist at Cary Orthopaedics. He performs arthroscopic and open sports medicine and joint preservation procedures of the shoulder, knee and hip, as well as joint replacement of the shoulder and knee.

He completed medical school at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Following this, he pursued a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT, where he was the assistant team physician for the Utah Jazz (NBA), Real Salt Lake (MLS), and the University of Utah Utes (NCAA Div. 1 football and basketball).

Dr. Parkes is passionate in his care of patients and athletes of all ages and activity levels. He helps them return to the activities they enjoy through treatment plans that are individualized for each patient.
