Cary Orthopaedics is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated LPN for our busy Spine Clinic. The full-time position is responsible for triage medical message management, obtaining prescription refills, assisting with pre-op H&P exams, assisting in clinical triage and duties as necessary. The LPN will report directly to the Spine Center manager to provide the best, efficient patient care. LPN will also be responsible for working diligently with the providers, mainly with the spinal surgeons.
Monday – Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
1-Hour Daily Lunch
Be responsible for all triage and prescription messages from patients, with input from direct contact with the physicians or PA as to their specific protocol. Eventually, once trained, be able to answer triage questions and educate our spine patients from basic spine, medications, procedures, and surgical interventions. Maintain open communication with physicians and physician extenders with regard to patient care and communication. Seek and obtain medical and cardiac clearances for surgical patients.
Assist clinical staff with assessing patient’s problems, manual BP’s, and rooming patients. Enter appropriate medical information into ChartLogic EMR record. Prescribe medications, order labs, imaging and/or testing under direct physician order and supervision. Assist in removing incision dressings/stitches as directed under the physician. Send out referrals as ordered by providers. Assist in any other clinical or misc. office duties to make the clinical department run smoothly. Assist with completion of disability/FMLA forms for patients.
Required skills and education:
Graduate of a school or program accredited for LPN nursing and have at least one year experience. Medical, cardiology or hospital experience preferred. Competent IV skills needed. Must be able to easily mix patient care duties with administrative duties on a day to day basis and handle interruptions. Have excellent telephone and computer skills. Need to be organized with close attention to detail.
Work as a team player to assist all providers and clinical staff to maintain good patient care. Be friendly, compassionate and have courteous demeanor to patients, peers and management. Be organized and calm under stress. Be willing to work in different areas and do what is necessary to keep the flow of the office going. Have an ownership mentality and a positive attitude. Have a go-getter attitude who exudes respect and limits apprehension towards providers.

Cary Orthopaedics is in need of a part-time physician assistant (PA-C), who will work on a rotating basis with our existing PA team for our After Hours Orthopaedic Urgent Care. The applicant should be an independent self-starter. An orthopaedic skill set, experience and interest is a plus. Competitive hourly rate is available.

- Fit patients with durable medical equipment
- Complete miscellaneous filing and paperwork
- Assist in medical procedures when necessary.
- Must be ARRT registered or eligible
- Minimum 1-3 years experience preferred but not mandatory
