| What is Orthopaedic Sports Medicine ? |
The field of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine involves the proactive approach of Evaluation, Treatment, Surgery and Rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries be it with athletes or patients that desire and demand a return to high level activities as quickly and safely as possible. This approach to caring for the injured patient involves a team of specialists starting with the Sports Medicine Felllowshp trained Orthopaedic physician, Athletic trainer where applicable, Physical Therapist, the patient and any other support personnel as needed.
The Physicians and Staff at Cary Orthopaedic Spine Specialists pride themselves in giving the highest quality Sports Medicine care in the area. Our Physicians are Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine having spent additional time after residency specifically training with highly respected Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeons and Centers throughout the United States. This formal fellowship training provides our physicians with specialized training in the evaluation, treatment and surgical intervention of orthopaedic injuries required by our athletic and even non -athlete patients of all levels. This additional training also allows our physicians to have direct experience with the critical rehabiliatation process that goes hand in hand with the latest in sports medicine surgical techniques.
PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPY employs experienced Licensed Physical Therapists and Certified Athletic Trainers to ensure the highest quality orthopaedic sports rehabilitation. This Sports Physical Therapy approach allows for the greatest opportunity for our patients to excel at their recovery, rehabilitation and return to activity.
